Lahore: The Lahore Metropolitan Corporation (LMC) has launched a crackdown against illegal construction activities in the city, reported a news source. The corporation will take legal action against developers constructing buildings without approved maps.

Please note that the operation will be carried out in all nine zones of the city. During its first phase, LMC sealed 25 commercial buildings (with unapproved maps) located in Shalimar Zones.

To make the operation successful, the Anti-Corruption Department will help LMC. In this regard, teams have been formed to carry out the operation in their respective zones. The teams comprises of officials from both departments.
Furthermore, LMC Planning Officer Muhammad Ashraf has issued the relevant instructions to zonal planning officers and building inspectors. In order to determine the scale of ongoing illegal construction activities in the city, LMC will also conduct a city-wide survey.
LMC and the Anti-Corruption Department representatives have explicitly stated that any construction activity without approved building plans will not be allowed.
