Karachi: It has been announced that 27 new projects will be initiated in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, according to a news source. Chinese Consul General Wang Yu made an announcement to this effect during a dialogue organised by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations.
Yu stated that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the second phase had been signed earlier this year, and work on these new CPEC projects was expected to begin by year end. He also added that some of the sectors involved the second phase included education, agriculture, vocational training, water supply, and industry.

He expressed his satisfaction about the cordial diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and China, and appreciated the various programmes advocating cultural and personnel exchange. He also stated that many Chinese investors had expressed their interest to explore the Pakistani market; something which definitely contribute to trade and business, given the right conditions.
