Islamabad: The work on Hakla-DI Khan Motorway, the western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), will be completed by the end of October, news sources reported. Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will launch the 285-kilometre-long four-lane road in November. According to the sources, the PKR 122 billion project was supposed to be completed in June, but it was delayed owing to technical and financial issues.
As per the Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the Hakla-DI Khan Motorway, the western route motorway is built in five phases, with phase one beginning at Yarik near DI Khan and ending at Rehmani Khel, phase two beginning at Rehmani Khel and ending at Kot Belian I district Mianwali, phase three beginning at Kot Belian and ending at Tarap, and phase four beginning at Tarap and ending at Pindi.
Following the completion, the project would not only cut the travel time between Islamabad and DI-Khan but will also open many areas of the interior Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for tourism and other activities.
