Islamabad: The next stage of the multi-billion economic corridor (CPEC) initiative would focus on reinvigorating trade ties between Pakistan and China – a news source reported.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. He briefed the prime minister on future prospects of CPEC.
He also reaffirmed China’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations with Pakistan. He informed that his country as a whole supported the vision and agenda of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In response, PM Khan lauded the vision of Chinese President Xi Jinping for initiating rapid socioeconomic reforms in China. He said Pakistan wanted to learn and benefit from the Chinese experience.

He also stressed the need for transfer of technology and capacity building in agricultural sector. This particular practice would help address poverty issues in Pakistan.
