Lahore: The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Taskforce briefed the Punjab Minister for Finance Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht on the progress of the projects under the initiative, a news source reported.

Bakht chaired the second meeting of the taskforce in order to review the progress of the CPEC projects. The taskforce informed the minister on the progress of the various ongoing projects under this venture.
During the meeting held at the Planning & Development Board Office, the participants were briefed regarding the progress of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project. The secretary transport revealed that 94% of the work on OLMT has been completed so far. He added that the rest of the work is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. He also informed the meeting that the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and the Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) were also fulfilling their work on a priority basis to provide electricity and water for the project.

In other ongoing CPEC projects, the meeting discussed the Allama Iqbal Industrial City. Managing Director (MD) Small Industries informed the members of the meeting about the process of shortlisting consultants for the project. These consultants would assist in the infrastructure development of the Allama Iqbal Industrial City, he added.
