Islamabad: The Pakistani government has decided to remove hurdles in the implementation of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) projects to expedite the pace of work, according to news published in the leading newspaper on August 18.

As per the details, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has approved the dissolution of the CPEC Authority, with the consent of China, which will help fast-track the implementation of projects. This decision was taken based on the summary moved by the Ministry of Planning and Development. Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated that this decision will help remove impediments that hamper the progress of the projects.

Moreover, he mentioned that the CPEC Authority slowed down the decision-making process. He further revealed that the Planning Ministry will be the facilitator for the CPEC projects and decisions will be taken by the concerned ministries.
