Islamabad: Set to complete in three phases, the first phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be made ready this year, reported a news source. The project, which is set to change the face of economy in the region, has a total worth of USD 56 billion.
The second phase of the project is set for completion in 2020, while its third phase will be delivered in 2025. The project is deemed as a reflection of Pak-China friendship, where the countries have stayed together through thick and thin.
Under this project, the two countries are working on several projects, including the development of Gwadar Port, Pakistan Railway’s Main Line I, 2, 3, and Khunjerab Railway, Lahore Metro Train, Karakoram Highway and setting up of plants for coal production in Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab.
