The decision was reached following a meeting between a three-member delegation headed by China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam.
Several important ‘green agendas’ including climate resilience, environmental sustainability, green economic recovery, renewable energy, air pollution, disaster risk reduction and water conservation were discussed at the session.
SAPM Amin briefed the meeting regarding the objective of the government’s ‘Clean Green Pakistan Index’; saying that the initiative aims to expand Pakistan’s protected area to over 15% from the current 13% and create 5,000 green employment opportunities in the country.
