The envoy said this in a media interaction explaining the recent developments in CPEC-related projects. He stated that the meeting would take place following Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif’s November visit to China, where numerous initiatives and funds’ allocation for existing projects will be deliberated. He stated that the PM’s visit will result in improved management and faster development speed for all projects.
Consul Shiren claimed that as part of CPEC, Pakistan and China would soon begin building on the multibillion-dollar Main-Line-1 (ML-1) railway project, which will transform freight and communication throughout Pakistan. He further emphasised that the CPEC is not just a development project but also an opportunity to increase people-to-people contact and mutual understanding between the two countries.

It is vital to note that CPEC is a flagship mega initiative launched in 2015 by China and Pakistan that includes projects relating to port development, special economic zones (SEZ) development, energy corridors, connectivity, and industrialization. The project is expected to bring USD 64 billion in foreign direct investment to Pakistan.
