Islamabad: The Board of Investments (BOI) has announced its decision to organise the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Industrial Cooperation Business to Business (B2B) Investment Conference on November 25, according to press release issued on November 5. The conference will be held in cooperation with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT) in Peshawar.

The conference will focus on priority sectors under the CPEC to facilitate cooperation and set up a link between foreign and local investors. Moreover, it will also focus on several other sectors that are being highlighted under the CPEC initiative. These include mines and mineral, academia, food processing, tourism and construction industry.
As per the press release, the conference will also highlight Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s potential for investment in various sectors, as well as promote investment potential of ready to launch projects and venture deemed promising for joint ventures and B2B cooperation.

According to the CPEC Cooperation Project Management Unit’s Project Director of BOI Asim Ayub, the government will utilize the platform to explore the possibilities of relocating Chinese industries to Pakistan. In this regard, the issues faced by Chinese enterprises on the matters related to the relocation will be addressed.
