Islamabad: Discussions between Pakistan and China are in progress to include the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to a news source on September 14.

As per the details, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has shared that this initiative is essential to complete the Peshawar-Karachi Motorway link, and consultations aim to secure financing for its construction. Feasibility work for the project is expected to start in December, with the estimated cost set at PKR 308 billion and a completion timeline of 30 months.
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning raised concerns about the equitable allocation of resources and motorway safety, prompting a call for an exclusive briefing on CPEC in a future meeting.

Additionally, the committee addressed performance concerns regarding the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD), citing delays, budget cuts, and poor project management.
