Sources within the Highways Department say that the project will either be included in the annual development program for this year, or be sanctioned by the Punjab Chief Minister under his discretionary power next year.
Previously, the provincial government had asked the concerned departments to share proposals for projects required to make Faisalabad an investor-friendly metropolitan area. The city has earned a special status due to presence of special economy zones planned under CPEC.
