Islamabad: The going cooperation between Pakistan and China with regard to the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative has begun to revive following the arrival of the first bulk cargo ship ‘MV Manet’ at the Gwadar international deep seaport, according to a news report.

This is the first bulk cargo ship to arrive at the Gwadar deep sea port carrying wheat and urea of Afghanistan transit trade. The government has also been working on launching ML-1 project as announced by Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed last week. The project is expected to serve as an inexpensive transport for cargo and passengers and will impact nearly 70% of Pakistan’s population.

The energy projects in the country have also been bringing foreign direct investments into the country and the cooperation is expected to increase even further as CPEC is a pilot project of China’s ambitious ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.
