Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing on Monday said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would assist Pakistan in becoming a regional trade hub, a new source reported. He added that the country had exhibited ‘huge potential’ to this effect.

Discussing the country’s potential to be a regional trade hub, Jing also extended his appreciation to the incumbent government and the people of Pakistan for showing great enthusiasm for CPEC. He added that the initiative offered prospects of a better future for the people of both China and Pakistan and would benefit the entire region.
The Chinese envoy stated that CPEC was a transparent project between the two governments and they would make all efforts to make it more viable. He added that the development of Gwadar, Post Qasim, and Karachi Port would bring great opportunities for a wider regional connectivity.

Jing highlighted that many projects had already reached completion status under CPEC and both countries were working towards expansion on the development fronts.
