Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has set up PM’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund-2020 to help those left destitute by the lockdown, a news source reported. He requested the nation to generously contribute to the fund by depositing donations in National Bank Account No. 4162786786, Main Branch Karachi.

PM Khan also attended a telethon programme organized by a private TV channel in this regard, where several known figures announced to make hefty contributions to the fund. Speaking at the telethon, he said that the government will maintain the records of all funds collected and ensure that the collected money is spent in transparent manner.
The PM further said that the Corona Relief Tigers Force will conduct door-to-door visits to identify the deserving families at village and district levels. ‘The force will be established on merit without any political influence’, he added.

In addition to that, Khan said that Ehsaas Programme management will link the charity givers via Facebook to ensure property distribution of funds, ration and other items given by the donors. He also requested celebrities and artists to support government in collection of funds under PM sets up COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund-2020.
