Lahore: The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has announced waiving off water bills for industrial and commercial connection holders that have remained inactive during the lockdown imposed for controlling the COVID-19 spread, a news source reported.
The working paper has been finalised and forwarded for approval to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Governing Body – that’s scheduled to meet on May 4.

Reportedly, WASA has finalised the terms and conditions for waiving water bills specifying that only the owners of industrial units and commercial clients who had paid their water bills prior to the lockdown – by February 28 – can benefit from the relief measures.
The water authority has recommended the LDA Governing Body to offer no relief to its defaulters. Furthermore, the terms and conditions specify that industrial units and commercial consumers that weren’t required to shut their business operation during the lockdown cannot avail the relief offer.

In addition, WASA will waive water bills for client who will place a formal request with the authority.
