Islamabad: The Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication is developing a mobile application called the ‘COVID-19 Gov PK’ to spread awareness about the coronavirus pandemic, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) is developing the said utility in the direction of the IT Secretary Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui. The application details all the necessary information which needs to be taken into consideration for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The application consists of four major functions: Chatbot for Covid-10 awareness, alarms for washing hands, the dashboard for the current status of the coronavirus, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) informative videos for preventing the novel coronavirus.

The ‘COVID-19 Gov PK’ has an important feature that is under the development stage. The said feature is ‘Radius Alert’ which will allow the citizens to identify the coronavirus patients in a certain radius and caution them to maintain social distance accordingly.
