Lahore: The Punjab government has prepared the initial draft of the ration distribution form that aims to distribute ration to the unemployed amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a news source reported. According to sources, the government would release the comprehensive form within a few days.

Reportedly, the form would also require details apart from personal information – including source of income, family members, family income, assets and more. After the form’s submission, the Department of Labour & Human Resources, Workers Welfare Board, Punjab Employees Social Security, and Employees Old Age Benefits would identify the individuals eligible for receiving ration.
Meanwhile, Member National Assembly (MNA) Maryam Aurangzeb stated that the government should formulate comprehensive policy for awareness on the novel coronavirus. She gave the following recommendations:
- Use of local languages
- Using local media in campaigns
- TV channels to play their role in promoting social distancing
- Radio Pakistan and private radio channels to play their role in spreading awareness
One the other hand, All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran President Jamal Baloch and Islamabad Chambers of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Secretary Information Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry appreciated the incumbent government’s efforts for the business sector amid the novel coronavirus situation.

Both officials opined that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan should announce a bailout package for the traders that includes a two-month rent waiver. They also reminded that there has been no implementation on the PM’s previously issued order for waiving off taxes on 102 different types of businesses.
