Lahore: The District Administration of Lahore on Saturday sealed 13 localities in the city, including Samanabad, parts of main Cantonment, and the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) — with the initiative aimed at containing the recent spike in the local transmission of COVID-19 cases, a news source reported.

As per the publication, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Danish Afzaal said that the authorities had restrained unnecessary movement in the affected vicinities after many patients had been tested positive for the coronavirus. The affected hotspots will remain under partial or complete lockdown until the threat of further spread is mitigated, he added.

The sealed areas of Lahore include parts of DHA and Lahore Cantonment, Sikandria Colony, Raiwind City, Small Industries Housing Society Defense B, Makhan Pura, Samanabad, Rustam Park, Begum Kot Shahdara, Gohawa Village, China Scheme Gujarpura, Chah Miran, Rehman Pura, Railway Colony Mughalpura, and various parts of Gulshan-e-Ravi.
The deputy commissioner said that any violation of section 144 in these areas would not be tolerated.
