Islamabad: The cost of Peshawar Metro Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project has increased by 38%, jumping from PKR 49.3 billion to PKR 67.9 billion, according to a news report. The cost has increased primarily because of changes in design phase, as a thorough study wasn’t carried out during preliminary design phase.
The sponsoring agency of the BRT has said that the cost estimates have increased after various changes in the design and scope, accruing because of changes in site and difficulty in construction. The revised project will have a 27.343 km-long constructed road, as part of a signal-free corridor, starting from Chamkani on GT Road and ending at Jamrod Road.
