Lahore: The cost estimates for the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project have been prepared by Ravi Urban Development Authority — a news source reported on December 22.

According to the estimates, a total of PKR 939 billion will be spent on the Ravi Riverfront project in the venture’s first phase of development. Of the total, PKR 190 billion will be used for land acquisition; PKR 17 billion will be used for the expansion of roads and bridges in the surrounding areas of the project; while an estimated PKR 63 billion have been set aside for the construction of new bridges and roads.

Further, according to the document, water and waste treatment plants are expected to cost PKR 80 billion, while metro bus and other transport networks including consultancy will cost PKR 172 billion. The development charges for the new city itself that will be located at the riverfront have been estimated to be PKR 415 billion, while the development charges in the project have been estimated at PKR 2.4 million per kanal.
