Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (retired) Muhammad Mahmood on Monday sought a complete report on the length of all proposed underpasses of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) as well as the details on cost estimates and design suggestions within one week.

The commissioner asked for this report while presiding over a weekly review meeting. He was of the view that the officers and the personnel working on the RRR should adhere to the set targets and deadlines.
Commissioner Mehmood stated that strict action will be taken against officers and personnel found using delaying tactics. He highlighted that the RRR project in Rawalpindi was essential for the people of the city and would have a positive impact on the civic and economic life of the residents.

He said that economic zones were vital for Rawalpindi’s development; adding that the Punjab Industries Department will provide assistance to the officials concerned on the matter. He added that these economic zones will be developed as per guidelines provided by the environmental bodies concerned.
