Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday appealed to overseas Pakistanis to make generous contributions to the Corona Relief Fund, a news source reported. He further stated that Pakistan faced significant poverty risks in the wake of the pandemic and needed the support of expats to overcome the going economic crisis.

PM Khan revealed that the government has so far received PKR 8 billion in contributions to the Corona Relief Fund. He added that this amount was not sufficient for the 220 million population of the country. He highlighted that it was the need of the hour that overseas Pakistanis played their role in order to overcome the ongoing difficult situation in Pakistan.
The PM said that the government has established a dedicated website for facilitating contributions to the Corona Relief Fund. He added that the aim of the website was to streamline the process of transferring donations. He expressed his hope that the country would successfully overcome the COVID-19 pandemic through joint efforts.
