Islamabad: The capital administration has banned conversion of agricultural land into housing schemes in Zone-III – a news source reported.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) plans to address the issue of illegal housing schemes in the city. Residents seeking conversion of their land have to gain approval from the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Similarly, the district administration has also imposed a temporary ban on lease of agricultural land. It is currently devising a new framework to regularise the sale and purchase of jointly-owned properties.
Meanwhile, the chief commissioner has notified the transfer of 12 patwaris. From now onwards, residents are no longer required to seek documents from these officials. A one-window system has also been devised to facilitate citizens.

Moreover, the administration has also renamed the patwaris as ‘Revenue Officials’, while superintendents have been designated as ‘Circle Revenue Officials’. Additional Deputy Commissioner Kamran Cheema said that these measures are aimed at ending the patwari culture.
