Lahore: The share of the cement sector in total tax revenue has increased to PKR 117 billion, according to a news report. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has listed this as the highest contribution to the national exchequer in 2016-2017, as compared to PKR 39 billion in 2012-2013.
The official spokesperson of APCMA has said that this has come because of rapid infrastructural development in the country. According to statistics, total dispatches for the first eight months of the fiscal year stood at 30.12 million tons as compared to 26.33 million tons during the corresponding period last year. The data further shows that the domestic consumption has stood at 9.38% in February, and that exports have even outstripped domestic consumption.
