Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has accepted the bid submitted by NLC for eagerly-anticipated construction of the Shahkam Chowk Flyover, according to a post published on Facebook on April 14.

As per the details of the project shared by LDA Vice Chairman S M Imran, the development of Shahkam Chowk Flyover was estimated to cost PKR 2,877 million. However, the NLC has won the contract by bidding a financial estimate of PKR 2,554 million. Mr Imran remarked that by accepting this bid, the authority has saved up to PKR 300 million through execution of a transparent tendering process.

The said flyover is part of the five mega development projects planned to be initiated in the provincial capital this month. Other mega infrastructural projects still in the pipeline for Lahore include; construction of a flyover at Sheranwala Gate, construction of an underpass at Ghulab Devi Hospital and additional lanes on the Lahore Bridge (Ferozepur Road), construction of five underpasses on The Mall, and easing traffic woes at Barkat Market (Garden Town) Y-junction.
