Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently awarded a contract in response to the lowest bid of PKR 94.12 million it received for the development of box culverts in Sector I-11/2 – planned to drain high volumes of water, according to a news source published on August 13.

The authority has issued an official statement in this regard and revealed that it had invited bids for the project – with an estimated cost of PKR 137.42 million for the construction of four box culverts.
During the bidding process, as many as 17 firms expressed interest to undertake the project; however, the tender was granted to the firm that presented a bid of PKR 94.12 million – which is 31.6% lower than the initial estimate.

These four box culverts in Sector I-11/2 will drain high volumes of water and handle a higher flow rate as compared to pipes. Moreover, these culverts will accommodate vehicular and pedestrian movement.
