Islamabad: The federal commission tasked with revising Islamabad’s master plan organised a consultative session on the issue at the Pak-China Friendship Centre on Thursday.
Several members of the commission, along with officials of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Pakistan Housing Authority, Islamabad Police, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), were all present at the occasion.
The participants were briefed on all the revisions proposed to the master plan. They were also apprised of the scope of the work of the federal commission.
CDA Chairman Amer Ali, who is also the convener of the commission, later said that the purpose of the dialogue was to seek input from all the stakeholders concerned with the matter. He said that the civic agency would give its utmost importance to the preservation and development of green areas while revising the master plan.
He informed the meeting’s participants that existing zoning regulations would be enhanced to address these issues in a profound way. He said that the master plan, as on organic development, would be revised in accordance with future requirements.
Moreover, the participants were shown a draft of the questionnaire on the master plan; which the commission had earlier prepared for communicating to the general public. This document is expected to be uploaded on the CDA’s website.
