Islamabad: The government has launched consultations with all the state chambers concerned in a bid to introduce a fixed tax scheme initiative – a news source reported.

A meeting to this effect took place between the heads of all fourteen chambers and Finance Minister Asad Umar in Islamabad. Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) President Almas Haider led the delegation.
The two sides discussed the overall business situation in the country. The delegation members shared their suggestions with the finance minister, to this effect.
In response, Asad Umar said that the federal government would provide all possible support to the business community. He said that several measures were being introduced pertaining to the rationalisation of the tax regime.

To facilitate this measure, a survey will be carried out in 23 big cities across the country, as well as several small cities. Officials of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will survey shops and industrial units.
