Peshawar: Construction work at the mega project to stack garbage in the provincial headquarterS of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been started, reported a news source. The site is being set up in Garhi Faizullah and it spans 819 kanals.
The dumping site is to become the first in the KP for which, the construction of boundary wall was inaugurated by the officials of Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar. The project is estimated to cost PKR 45 million.
The inauguration ceremony for the construction of the boundary wall was attended by important members of the departments concerned. The work on the boundary wall is expected to be completed in 6 months.
Total area of the dumping site, which spans 819 kanals was acquired at an amount of PKR 173. The site will have arrangements to dump solid waste along modern lines. In addition to dumping the waste, the site will also be used for generating electricity from the waste. Reportedly, PKR 7 billion will required to generate electricity from the waste dumped in Garhi Faizullah.
