Peshawar: The provincial government has completed construction work on Kundal Dam in Buner district – a news source reported. According to the Energy Development Organization, at least PKR 2.3 billion were spent on the project.

The dam, funded by the federal government, will irrigate more than 13,000 acres of barren land. The provincial government also plans to spend PKR 9 billion on conservation of water and soil during the next five years.
Mohibullah Khan, the agriculture minister, said that all arid and semi-arid areas will be included in this mega project.

Moreover, a comprehensive plan has already been chalked out for pavement of 20,000 watercourses. The project aims to ensure provision of uninterrupted water supply to farmers in the province.
The minister said that the project will be completed at a cost of PKR 15 billion. He added that a total of 76,000 watercourses exists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
