Lahore: Local Government Minister Mian Mahmood-ul-Rashid inaugurated the construction of a new building of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) in the city, according to news published on December 23.

The inauguration ceremony was organised at the LWMC’s Children’s Hospital workshop and LWMC Chairman Atif Chaudhry and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Anan Qamar were present. The minister, while speaking at the ceremony, stated that the company is the largest institution in the province in terms of manpower. He went on to say that the new building will be constructed keeping in mind the next 30 years.

The LWMC CEO mentioned that the new building should have been constructed 10 years ago. He directed the company to conduct zero-waste operations in all the Christian colonies. All the churches and Christmas markets are being washed and cleaned on the directives of CEO Qamar.
