Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed on Sunday revealed that the construction work at the G-7/G-8 underpass (on Faisal Avenue) and the Park Enclave Bridge was currently in its final stages, a news source reported.

With regard to the construction of the G-7/G-8 underpass on Faisal Avenue, the CDA chairman said that only carpeting work remained underway. He added that the CDA intended to lay down the carpeting within a few days and inaugurate the project during the next 10 days. The Park Enclave Bridge and Burma Bridge were also near completion, he said.
CDA officials stated that the underpass project on Faisal Avenue faced delays due to recent rain spells in Islamabad. They added that apart from carpeting, all work was completed on the project. They explained that after completion, the underpass would allow traffic from the twin cities to move beneath its while that from G-7 and G-8 to cross using the top.

On the other hand, as a test case, CDA opened one lane on Friday for accessing Blue Area without the carpeting done yet.
