Lahore: Provincial Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai has stated that the construction and rehabilitation of roads in South Punjab under the ‘Rural Accessibility Programme (RAP) Phase-2’ would begin soon, a news source reported on September 18.

He further stated that the areas where projects under RAP Phase 2 will commence include Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Multan. He said that the provincial government had allocated funds for the project under the Annual Development Plan 2019-20 (ADP 2019-20).

He further said that the work on these projects had stopped earlier because of financial constraints and coronavirus pandemic but now it has been included in ADP 2020-21 under a re-launch. The minister also received briefings on other projects by the C&W secretary.
