Lahore: The Punjab government has announced its decision to reopen construction-related departments amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdown situation, a news source reported. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Major (retired) Azam Suleman Khan.

According to details, only the necessary staff will be called in for duty. The chief secretary noted that the construction-related departments needed to be reopened to facilitate map approvals and other necessary services.
He further directed the officials concerned to reopen the offices that provide record of rights and property transfer documents. He instructed that the offices could be opened for about four or five hours.

He further directed that the departments which are opened should ensure that the government announced Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are fully followed.
