Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Sunday revealed that the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) recently provided its approval to the construction of the Peshawar Northern Bypass as well as two power projects in KP, according to news sources.

The chief minister said that the construction of the Peshawar Northern Bypass would improve traffic flow in Peshawar. As for the power projects in KP, a 157-megawatt (MW) grid station in Madyan area of Swat and another of 88-MW Gabrel powerhouse will be established in Kalam Valley.

Moreover, CM Mahmood Khan said that the completion of the power projects would allow the authorities concerned to supply electricity to the industries on discounted prices. He further stated that discounted electricity will boost economic activity and create employment opportunities for the youth.
