Peshawar: Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mahsud chaired a meeting with various stakeholders, agreeing to proceed with the construction of the Northern Bypass in the provincial capital, as reported by a news source on June 7.

This critical infrastructure project will connect Nasir Bagh Road to Takhta Baig Road, covering the remaining 8 kilometers, and is now set to move forward swiftly. The meeting, chaired by Commissioner Riaz Mahsud, included the Deputy Commissioner Khyber, officials from the National Highway Authority (NHA), and a 12-member delegation of affected residents led by Malik Haji Iqtidar. Together, they reached a consensus to expedite the construction process. Riaz Mahsud emphasised the importance of timely compensations and directed the NHA to ensure the prompt payment of remaining dues to the affected individuals.

Additionally, he has mandated an investigation into previous compensations disbursed to unrelated individuals, with clear instructions to reclaim these funds and disburse them to the rightful claimants.
