Mansehra: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Deputy Director for Small Dams Mohammad Zubair has inaugurated construction work on Munchora Dam, reported a news source. The dam is basically meant to irrigate agricultural land in Tanawal and Agror areas of Oghi Tehsil, but it will also produce electricity.
The project is estimated to be completed at a cost of PKR 2 billion. The Government of KP will compensate the people displaced by the dam by offering them built-up property rates and also money against the trees planted on their land and other machinery installed.
In addition to that, the residents of the area will also be employed for construction of dam. The left and right banks of the canal on Munchora Dam will be sunk to irrigate agricultural land in part of Oghi Tehsil. So, in many ways, it is bound to bring prosperity to the region.
