Quetta: Despite the ban on construction of buildings higher than 30 feet, development work on high-rise buildings in the city continues, reported a news source. The building code specified for construction activities in is being ignored.
Please note, in terms of being prone to earthquakes, Quetta has been marked as a red zone. Reportedly, the maps for these projects are also being approved. According to sources quoted by the newspaper, four and five storey-high plazas are being constructed in various parts of the city.
Some of these plazas are being constructed on area measuring as small as 600 yard. Construction of commercial buildings in purely residential areas has also been reported. The residents find the increasing commercial activities in residential areas disturbing as this compromises their safety and privacy.
