Karachi: Sindh Local Government Secretary Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has instructed the officials concerned to complete the construction of Hawksbay Road and Masan Road on priority, according to a news report shared in national dailies on May 4. Shah issued these directives while presiding over a meeting that discussed various problems, with a special focus on District Keemari.

Sindh National Assembly Member Abdul Qadir Patel took the opportunity to shed light on the issues faced by the residents of Keemari. Addressing the meeting members, the LG secretary said the Sindh government was keen on the development of Keemari and the Karachi West District. He added that the provincial government would ensure an equal division of resources for the development of the two districts.
Shah further instructed his team to initiate work on developing a jetty on Baba Bhit Island soon, in order to address the commute issue of the island’s residents. Speaking about the water problems in several colonies of Karachi including Macchar Colony, Sikandarabad, and Kamila Chowk, the secretary mentioned that RO plants were being set-up to make sea water drinkable. He directed the meeting members to identify sources to meet the water needs of the city’s residents.

Talking about the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Housing Project, the minister revealed that 18,000 low-cost plots had already been allocated among the deserving applicants. He also mentioned that the road leading to the low-cost housing project would be completed soon, and that was work was underway to provide utility services to the project.
