Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sent PC-1 for remodelling of Ammar Shaheed Chowk and construction of a tunnel here, which lies on a VIP route, to the Punjab Planing and Development Department, according to a new source. The project is estimated to cost PKR 700 million.
Subject to approval and issuance of funds, the project is likely to be completed in three to four months. The tunnel will offer a signal-free route to the traffic coming to and from Islamabad, Chaklala Scheme III, Kutchery Chowk and Garrison Headquarters.
It is marked as a high priority project by the RDA, for which the authority has also completed the design and expense estimates.
