Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has stated that development work has been launched on a five-star hotel near Gaddafi Stadium to accommodate foreign players, according to a news report published on February 16.

Moreover, the CM revealed that either an underground or an overhead bridge will also be developed to connect the stadium and the hotel. He revealed this information while speaking to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zabi, who expressed interest in Punjab’s construction and health sectors.
In response, the CM invited UAE investors to invest in Walton Business Hub, Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and Ravi Riverfront Urban Development project. He also assured the ambassador that the facilities have been provided to the investors by easing the process of obtaining No-objection certificates. The ambassador stated that UAE firms were interested in SEZs and said that UAE visa centre will also be soon opened in Lahore.

In a related development, Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht stated after completing the proposed relocation of the Lahore-Walton Airport facility, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will readily be able to launch commercial activity on some 6000 acres radius of land.
