Timergara: On Saturday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan announced to the press that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will be setting the foundation stone of the Chakdara-Chitral Expressway soon, a news source reported. This project comes under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) mega-project. This announcement was made during the CM’s recent visit to Timergara for the inauguration of a number of buildings.

CM Khan had previously ordered special focus on all projects related to CPEC and had instructed all relevant departments to accelerate work on them.

This road from Chakdara to Shandur through Chitral has been approved by the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC). The National Highway Authority (NHA) has planned to spend approximately PKR 17.5 million on the construction of this project. The expressway will consist of three sections; 38.85 KM from Chakdara to Timergara, 43.39 KM from Akhagram to Dir, and 47.98 KM from Kalkatak to Chitral.
