Karachi: The Supreme Court prohibited Bahria Town Karachi from constructing any building beyond than six storeys, as per a news report. This decision came from a three-member bench of the court headed by Chief Justice of Paksitan Mian Saqib Nisar, while hearing a petition filed by the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD).
ABAD Advocate Faisal Siddiqui said that, as directed by the apex court, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has to grant permission to developers for constructing high-rise buildings beyond six storeys. The court had earlier placed a ban on constructions in the city beyond two storeys in earlier in 2017, which was lifted in January 2018, allowing the builders to construct only six floors.
