Rawalpindi: The Provincial Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed recently announced that the construction ban in Murree Improvement Trust (MIT) scheme would be lifted soon, according to a news source.

He made this announcement while chairing a meeting of the MIT Scheme. Among notable attendees were Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Assistant Commissioner Murree, and other senior officials concerned.
He insisted for urgent steps to be taken for the completion of progressive schemes spearheaded by the trust. Moreover, he instructed the authorities to complete all gas supply projects underway in a timely manner. He also elaborated that upon the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, the public health engineering schemes will be launched soon after the collaboration of the members of the provincial and national assemblies.
Effective steps are also being taken for the provision of housing and public health amenities to the residents. A comprehensive strategy is also being formulated for the beautification of Murree and improved standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the popular tourist destination.
Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa was of the view that all necessary measures shall be taken to ensure clean water supply in the district of Murree.

While visiting Murree, Rasheed and other administration and housing department officials also inspected the water supply situation. Rasheed also said that all the water distribution pipelines should be immediately examined for any leaks and should be accordingly repaired to eliminate water loss.
