Islamabad: The Islamabad Assistant Commissioner (Rural) has placed a ban on the construction of houses along the bank of River Soan in Circle Lohi Bhair, Khasra No. 1711 for two months, according to a news source. People found breaching the ban will face strict legal action.
The notice issued by the commissioner read that the number of housing societies already established, and the construction of new individual residential units in the area, is causing a reduction in the size of the riverbank. This can potentially contribute to a loss of lives and assets in the case of flooding.
