Islamabad: In order to curb the practice of illegal constructions on land owned by the Federal Government Employees Cooperative Housing Authority (FGECHA), Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat has imposed section 144 in Sector F-12, G-12, Mouza Tamma, and Mouza Muhria – a news source reported on January 8.
According to the details revealed, the Islamabad DC was approached by the FGEHA with complaints on illegal constructions being carried out on its land. Taking notice of the application, the DC issued immediate notification, according to which those found carrying out the construction work will be arrested on the spot. In addition, FIRs will be registered against them under Section 188.

The Section 144 will remain imposed for the next two years. Meanwhile, those willing to continue with the construction work would be required to show legal proof of ownership in addition to complete property documents.
