Islamabad: The computerisation of Islamabad’s land records has been facing delays due to land mafia, according to a news source. The order to computerise land records, along with a PKR 2 billion budget, were issued in 2004.
Reportedly, the project summary was generated again in 2016, by which time the project’s cost had gone up to PKR 50 billion. The process, however, has remained stuck at the documentation phase. As a result, land-dispute-related cases in Islamabad have been facing issues because of the absence of a computerised land record system.
