Lahore: The Government of Punjab has decided to complete the Orange Line Metro Train project as soon as possible, reported a news source. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan instructed the departments concerned to resume all pending work on an urgent basis.
Commenting further on the project, Khan said that delaying or abandoning such a huge project is unfeasible as the delays are causing the rates to go further up. To make the related development less of a financial burden on the government, it has been decided to commercialise all stations of the metro train. The marketing ownership of these stations will be offered to banks, corporations, and other companies, to which purpose, orders have also been issued. Inclusion of business will generate funds for the project and help the government reduce the subsidy on it.
Khan ordered the Lahore Development Authority and all departments concerned to perform their duties regarding early completion of the project.
