Beijing: The completion of 200 development projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is expected in the next 12 years, according to a news report. Of the 43 projects confirmed earlier, 20 are already under construction. The other 157 will gradually be completed in the next 12 years.
Already, Pakistan’s economic growth rate has increased by 5.97% during last year because of this economic corridor. According to Zhou Rong, a senior research fellow at Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, the project has been able to create 60,000 jobs in the country so far, and more would be created as new development occurs under this mega-project.
